Job Description

The Operations function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, providing products, services and information that add value for customers and stakeholders. The function manages sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain (warehousing, logistics and distribution) and planning processes and ensures optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale, taking into account efficiency, required flexibility, security of supply and considering costs, working capital, quality levels, service levels, and company and society values. The Demand Planner is the linking pin between operations and commercial organization. This position leads the dialogue each month with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing regarding customer and products. Demand Planners are responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. They use the analytical, marketing, and sales data of a company to effectively estimate future product demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving S&OP process and ensuring 18 months sign-off forecast for assigned MSU; leading consensus meetings
  • Managing service level for the local business; evaluating product availability and taking corrective steps to ensure more effective alignment with agreed business and operations objectives. Identifying & resolving service risks, with escalation to the Central Supply Planner for decision-making in case of stock shortages
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and forecast bias; Provide support in developing seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customers reactions to promotions and discounts
  • Determine ABCD classification and calculate proposed safety stock settings to be approved and maintained by Central Planning.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance; Maintain demand plan to ensure cost effectiveness and to meet customer demands
  • Communicate product availability (including NPDs) vs demand to Customer Service and Sales team; Identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply.
  • Monitor slow moving and potentially obsolete stocks and propose improvement actions for approval by Central Planning. Driving Portfolio review discussions.
  • Co-pilot successful and on-time delivery of copacking activities
  • Active involvement in day-to-day review and resolution of issues; Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, finance or other relevant fields.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Up to 3 years Supply Chain demand planning and/or forecasting experience, preferably in an FMCG company
  • Experienced with SAP APO tool
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good level of English both written and spoken
  • Highly analytical and accurate, proficient in Excel
  • Personal Leadership; capable of influencing others
  • Results driven; eager to take ownership and initiative
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
